I can’t think of any reason why you would directly - but as you say, indirectly there are plenty. One quick example is the more people who subscribe the more likely it is that someone reads your post and is inspired to link to you. But just directly? I’m pretty sure not. But, that’s why I am here to learn because I’m not an expert, so if there is I would be happy to learn about it!

They might. It’s hard to know all the factors Google includes to determine your rankings. At the moment it doesn’t seem to me like they do, but I could be mistaken. I would be surprised if they did, because it is too easy of a number to game. How easy it is to up your RSS count? I know people who could probably add 100,000 subscribers in a matter of minutes with a good script. It’s not like email addresses cost money…

If you have a lot of RSS subscribers that also means that it is very likely that you have a lot of traffic incoming and outgoing from your blog. With more users using iGoogle and being logged into their accounts during their time spent online, Google tracks things like that. They track how BUSY a site is and I think that has an affect to a certain degree.

So yes, I would say so… but not in the way of typical SEO thinking (i.e. backlinks, etc..)
