Who Still Uses Entrecard?

I never used Entrecard yet I saw thousands of bloggers using it during its peak last year. Still to this day I see a few blogs using Entrecard? I wonder how well Entrecard works today? I seriously doubt that it serves any justice having on your blog today. So who still uses Entrecard, and is it really working for you?

I really liked Entrecard at first, and spent time dropping on people, spending time on their forums, holding contents, etc. I ended up putting Entrecard on about a half dozen blogs. However, I am no longer participating in the community and I have slowly started to remove Entrecard. I’ll be removing from my primary sites soon. What little traffic it brings me is spam and I could do without that.

I will say that if you are willing to invest the time into Entrecard that it will generate traffic for you. This might be useful to a new blogger. Entrecard is no Blog Rush, which was a miserable failure.

But it’s time for me to move on.

I never used it and it seems to have been removed from most of the sites I saw it on when it was big, however, I’m constantly amused by Entrecard credits being given out as prizes in blog promotions given the downhill slide they seem to be on.

I used to be active in Entrecard and had it in my blog for months, but had to finally remove it as a few visitors complained about the blog load speeds and also the people who used to come through entrecard came only to drop cards and nothing else. They can never be counted as unique good visitors.

Weren’t there even some scripts or programs or something that would go around and drop cards for you without your actually having to even visit the site?

There were such programs, but am talking about the traffic quality of the people who actually come to drop their cards.. Scripts are secondary only for getting the credits.

Wouldn’t either way (whether someone personally did the clicking or if it was a script) count as a visit to your site in most stat tracking systems? This would increase the effect caused by the people you mentioned in this original comment because now there are scripts doing this and not just actual people who might possibly stay and look around if only for a few seconds (or at least long enough to find the widget).

I won tens of thousands of ECs from contests and yes, it helps me a lot in promoting my blog on other EC users’ blogs.

It helps you in promoting your blog in that you’re getting your name/logo out there, but has Entrecard brought in that much traffic for you (i.e. someone browsing the other site sees and clicks on your “card”)? Of course any traffic you get from it is basically free but what is the CTR on those credits how many credits or “cards” do you need to spend to get 1 clickthrough on average and does that person actually convert.

As many bloggers around the net did, I liked EntreCard too. I started using it again on my blog, but I’ve put the widget on my footer.

I use entrecard but i am unsure of whether it actually brings in real traffic.however, it does increase the visibility and might actually lead to making some new blogging friends when involved in mutual dropping.
I actually found @waynejohn like that i am hooked to the content that he delivers:-)
